For more than two decades, SelectScience has been at the forefront of advancements in online scientific communication. From its global headquarters in Bath, the company provides trusted information to scientists around the world, working across several critical fields, including COVID-19, cancer research, drug discovery, sustainability, food quality and clinical diagnostics.
Widely considered the eminent digital publisher of science technology content, SelectScience connects manufacturers of game-changing lab equipment, products and services with an international audience of over five million pioneering researchers and health professionals. Through peer-to-peer product reviews and resources, such as webinars, virtual events, articles, eBooks and its revolutionary video platform, The Scientists’ Channel, the company is delivering on its mission to help make the world a healthier place.
Renowned for its innovation, SelectScience has grown rapidly in recent years to establish an enviable market position, serving exceptional digital marketing solutions to the industry, including all of the world’s top 10 manufacturers of scientific laboratory equipment.
SelectScience® CEO Kerry Parker says: “We are extremely proud of the important role we play in supporting the global science industry – scientists of all disciplines need information they can trust in order to advance vital work as effectively as possible.
“Our vast digital reach means we can offer scientific manufacturers direct access to the scientists and healthcare professionals they want to reach anywhere in the world. At the heart of our success is an outstanding team and I’d like to thank them all for their passion and commitment to delivering high quality communications and exquisite service.”
The Scientists’ Channel
Thanks to its reputation for scientific expertise and editorial excellence, SelectScience is privileged to work with many of the world’s leading scientists, gaining exclusive access to speakers, interviews and filming opportunities. It is a testament to the esteem in which SelectScience is held that scientists working for pharma giants such as GSK, Pfizer and AstraZeneca have been happy to publicise their work on video in what has traditionally been an industry that is cautious about sharing content.
Building on this unique position, in 2018 SelectScience launched The Scientists’ Channel to enable leading scientists to share their research with a global audience through exclusive video interviews.
The platform already features a number of Nobel laureates, such as chemistry luminaries Prof. Sir Fraser Stoddart and Dr. Richard Henderson, as well as scientists spearheading efforts to tackle global food fraud such as Prof. Chris Elliott, founder of the Institute for Global Food Security; respected clinicians including cardiology expert Dr. Frank Peacock, Professor of Emergency Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine; and an array of international researchers developing innovative new ways to treat cancer, address the looming antimicrobial resistance crisis and much more.
When coronavirus struck in early 2020, SelectScience responded rapidly to support the industry, launching a series of virtual events and other online tools to help ensure effective scientific communication and collaboration could continue through the pandemic. “Now more than ever, we’re all seeing the importance of effective communication in science and we feel privileged to be able to play our part in that,” says Kerry.
Building on its strong standing in North America and Europe, over the past three years SelectScience has seen growth across new markets including China, New Zealand, Singapore, the Republic of Korea and Israel.
As well as its Bath headquarters, the SelectScience team is located in North America, Germany and Italy. In early 2021, it announced an exciting new investment partnership with Vespa Capital.
