Nasco is delighted to have been awarded its fifth Queen’s Award for International Trade. It has previously received the Queen’s Award in 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016. Nasco has also been recognised in the Sunday Times Fast Track 100 (featuring the fastest growing companies in the UK) in 2013 and 2014, and the International Track 200 in 2015.
Started in 2003, Nasco is now one of the leading exporters and wholesalers of British and European Fast Moving Consumer Goods. The company exports 8,000 food, drink, toiletry and household product lines to over 60 countries around the world. Alongside exporting, its service offering includes logistics support, export documentation and language labelling.
Adapting to an unpredictable world Despite the various challenges faced by the Covid pandemic and the UK leaving the EU, Nasco achieved a 23% increase YoY in export sales to bring its total export turnover to £45.5m in 2020.
By adapting to the unpredictable and evolving dynamics of the global market it continued to grow and exceed its targets for the year. While its main markets are in West Africa and the Middle East, the company has grown to have customers in nearly every continent. In the three years to December 2020, the company’s international sales increased by 63%, and overseas sales currently make up 91% of total turnover.
Success is attributed to the company’s customers, suppliers and staff relationships. Nasco ensures its clients receive a personalised service and has strong alliances with its partners. By trading directly with suppliers and manufacturers, Nasco can ensure fast, consistent delivery at low prices. Its employees and specialist staff are experienced in dealing with everything from local languages to specific country requirements.
A tasty offering
In the past few years, Nasco has invested in developing and launching its own brands: Casa De Campo, Great Grey and London Biscuits. The Casa De Campo portfolio includes a range of tinned products, oils, coffee and honey. Great Grey specialises in a selection of energy and malt drinks, while London Biscuits covers the family favourites: Digestives, Rich Tea, Cookies and more. These products are already gaining attention. Nasco is confident that this business will add to a strengthening and increasingly divergent revenue in the years to come.
