- 2022 International Trade
MNB Precision Limited has been awarded the Queen’s Award For International Trade after seeing its export sales increase from 6% to 75% in the last five years.
Working from his garage, the company was started in 1980 by Bob Benton. The company is now in its third generation of the same family and occupies a 36,000 sq/ft manufacturing facility in Coventry. Investing £6m in new machinery, combined with a highly skilled workforce, the company can manage the most complex of parts, mainly for the oil and gas, nuclear and water sectors.
This landmark award sits proudly alongside others, including The Lloyds Bank SME Business Of The Year and The Sunday Times Fast Track 100.
Always aiming to improve and progress, MNB employs a customer-driven approach with continuous investment in the latest technology to improve customer relationships both in the UK and abroad. Recently MNB has invested £2m in new large muti axis CNC machines, which remove the need for multiple machining set ups and helps reduce the company’s carbon footprint.
Managing Director Luke Benton said: “This award recognises the work that the whole team at MNB Precision Limited have done over the last number of years, especially during some tough times in the market. None more so than the Covid pandemic when our workforce showed our diversity from producing large complex components, sometimes up to eight tonnes, to smaller type work to support the ventilator challenge, manufacturing thousands of parts to support our customers build for current and new ventilator design.”
As well as producing and assembling parts for customers globally, MNB Precision Limited made the bold decision to open a new manufacturing facility in the UAE. This was to support customers with complex machined components and help with their In Country Value Added initiatives. Moving with the times are key and MNB will continue to invest in facilities and its’ team to keep British manufacturing and British companies in the forefront of precision machining.
