Goodwill Solutions CIC is delighted to have received the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in Promoting Opportunity. Awarded to companies running social mobility programmes that are designed to help people from disadvantaged backgrounds into successful working lives.

Founded in 2008 by Graham Tomkins and Mike Britton, the Northamptonshire-based warehousing and logistics company provides a range of unique, cost-effective logistics and support functions, all of which serve as a conduit for customers looking to connect and establish a successful commercial dialogue.

As a Community Interest Company, Goodwill Solutions was created to help its local community via various projects and schemes designed to improve social welfare. The company is able to drive social change by taking the commercial revenue generated from its best-in-class logistics and warehousing business and using it to fund numerous community welfare projects and schemes.

Joint Founder Graham Tomkins commented: “Since our inception The University of Northampton has calculated that we have contributed £15m of social impact to our local community and helped to change thousands of peoples’ lives for the better.”

This sentiment is echoed by Managing Director, Steve Morgan, who praises the company’s relationships with stakeholders, partners and supporters. He adds: “Our customers and all the institutions we work with understand how critical promoting opportunity can be in raising living standards for us all. All businesses need to consider how they contribute to the local community.”

Employing 25 people and boasting nearly 250,000 square feet of storage space and excellent connections to road and rail links, Goodwill Solutions is able to service a variety of local and national businesses, including larger clients such as Marks & Spencer, Travis Perkins and the Shop Direct Group.
