CELLS PROJECT CIC
- 2020 Promoting Opportunity
Along with disadvantaged children and young-people, CELLS Project CIC supports ex-offenders seeking reformation, and victims of crime and abuse looking to reintegrate and access support across Merseyside and the surrounding area.
The company provides a credible and inclusive approach, combining a framework of initiatives and programmes which inform, inspire and develop the ability and outlook of each adult beneficiary. Individuals can gain skills, training and qualifications which enable them to support disadvantaged children and young-people, as well as deliver awareness events, outreach and mentoring support. All this is done with the aim of dissauding young people to get involved with crime, thereby encouraging a positive progression through life and preventing them from making the same mistakes the team’s wisened mentors once did.
In addition to promoting independence, social inclusion and integration, involvement with the CELLS Project offers beneficiaries the opportunity to put something back into their communities, simultaneously helping young people at risk of involvement with crime while enhancing their own confidence levels, self-esteem and skills. CELLS-Team members gain specific mentoring qualifications to support young-people, leading to meaningful paid employment as CELLS-Mentors, an approach which strengthens their own resolve to stay away from crime.
