"Enterprise is something the UK’s business community has in spades. This is certainly true of this year’s winners, and their stories provide amazing examples of the immense contribution directors make to the society around them."

Institute of Directors

At times like these, enterprise is more crucial than ever.

It’s one of the founding values of the Institute of Directors, and we value deeply the work The Queen’s Awards for Enterprise do to promote this all-important attribute.

Fortunately, enterprise is something the UK’s business community has in spades. This is certainly true of this year’s winners, and their stories provide amazing examples of the immense contribution directors make to the society around them.

There’s no doubting that the months ahead will prove challenging for firms across the spectrum. But this year’s winners speak to the ingenuity, resolve, and pure hard work that will be key to getting things up and running again.

More than this, they provide a timely reminder of the positive reasons we enter the world of business: to create new ideas, forge new connections, and – most fundamentally – to improve lives.

In difficult times, success against the odds should not go unrecognised. In fact, it is all the more important that we celebrate those that have found a way through the challenges.

So, my congratulations go to all of the winners, for the hard work you have put in, to the benefit of the economy and our society as a whole.
