Volumatic Ltd wins an Innovation Award for the manufacture and distribution of cash-handling equipment for improving security of across-the-counter transactions.
The equipment comprises a validation device for detecting banknote forgeries, a pouch for keeping money secure during business hours and a key for removing the pouch. The validation device is continually updated with information about forgeries known to the Bank of England and the European Central Bank. The specially-designed key not only serves to remove the pouch from 
the other equipment, but acts as an automatic seal on the pouch until its contents are deposited safely. There are several in-built authentication features preventing unauthorised access to the pouch. The commercially successful equipment is designed for quick and simple till operations.
