Headquartered in Gloucester, Severn Glocon Group has an established network of manufacturing facilities and offices throughout the UK and around the world. This strategy ensures the Group's home-grown engineering prestige remains at the core of international operations, whilst being complemented by local market knowledge.
The Group specialises in critical and severe service valves for processing industries including oil and gas (offshore and onshore), refining, power generation, LNG and petrochemical. For these industries, valves are more than a commodity: they are central to performance, productivity and profitability. Severn Glocon Group's 50 years of experience, channelled into pioneering initiatives such as the Repair Intelligence CircleTM, ensure its valve manufacture and services get better and better. Naturally, it follows that customers see a continual improvement in their own plant performance.
Winning a Queen's Award has been a pivotal achievement for the Group. It has helped to further unify the business as it prepares for more investment and expansion at home and abroad over the next 12 months.
- 60% of international business comes from operations supplying large Engineering, Performance & Construction (EPC) contractors in Tokyo, Paris, London, Korea, Houston and the UAE. From 2007-2009 sales from this market grew by 140%.
- Of 460 staff, 70 are based outside the UK, mostly at its Chennai plant (India).
- 40% of business is generated from domestic and international Established Plant Sales (EPS) for regions including the Middle East and the North Sea, as well as Norway and Canada.
- Over 90% of clients have worked with the Group for more than 10 years.
