Immunodiagnostic Systems plc (IDS) is dedicated to the development and provision of innovative blood tests to enable the earlier diagnosis of disease and so improve the quality of life for patients in specific disease areas.
IDS products are used in Clinical and Research laboratories worldwide. The Group has its headquarters in the North-East of England, with flourishing Sales & Marketing subsidiaries in the USA, Germany, France and Belgium. Elsewhere, IDS products are available through an extensive network of highly qualified Distributors, particularly in the key markets of Japan, Australia, China, Italy, Spain and the Middle East. The company specializes in areas of medical interest such as bone and cartilage, hypertension, growth disorders and more recently, heart disease and diabetes. These are primarily inter-related diseases of the elderly such as osteoporosis, rheumatoid- and osteoarthritis, bone diseases resulting from hypertension, diabetes and chronic kidney disease, and resulting cardiovascular (heart) abnormalities. The demographic trend of an increasingly aging population has raised such disease areas to a new level of socio-economic importance.
